AdComs

by mrkamal Fri Jul 13, 2007 11:47 am

Hi,
I was wondering how large, typically speaking, the Ad Coms are at top-10 schools? Are we talking 10-15 people or much larger? Are applications reviewed by every member or spread out among the committee?
Just curious what the process looks like...
Thanks

Thanks for your inquiry.

Admissions Committees tend to vary from school to school. For example, at HBS only the Admissions Committee reads applications and interviews candidates, while at Kellogg, students are trained to join the Admissions Committee and help make decisions. In some cases, schools offer hybrid models where students only interview, but don’t have any input into final decisions. Generally, most schools will have at least two Admissions Committee members read an application and, if the application is regarded favorably by one, it will either go to committee or to the Admissions Director.

Sincerely,
