A mere 600...

by aquariusabhishek24 Sat Jul 13, 2013 1:27 am

Hi there,

I am done with my GMAT on 12th july, 2013. It was my first attempt.
More or less it was on the same lines of "GMAT Prep" though I want to share my experience with you people.

Test Time: 1300 IST
Reported at Center: 1230 IST
About Center: The center accommodating two persons at a time. Check-in process was smooth, person at test center completed all formalities and assigned me a seat along with scratchpad and marker.

About Test:
Read the tutorial and calmed myself for the time of tutorial by not skipping it upto last 30 seconds.

1. AWA: I was pretty comfortable with the given argument. I carved out valid points out of it and wrote in a organized and structured way with proper use of structural words. Last five minutes I devoted in reviewing my analysis.

2. IR: Some questions were time consuming while some are like cakewalk for me especially those involving graphs. Took all 30 minutes to answer 12 questions.

After this I went for a break for about 5 minutes and joined back to tackle next section : Quant

3. Quant: I am pretty comfortable with PS section and the same happened in test also. Solved PS with minimum efforts and stuck sometime in DS only. Overall this section went well to my satisfaction and I was able to answered all 37 questions before time out.

Again a break of 4 minutes , back to next section :Verbal

4. Verbal: In no time I started the section and questions are pouring like anything else. SC seemed tough to me with RC on the easy- moderate and CR moderate.
It took a lot to solve first 20 questions and after that I realized I have less than 30 minutes for the remaining 21 questions. But at this point also I was not under any stress and kept myself relax all the time. In last 21 questions I made quick decisions for the questions ( maybe this proved fatal).

Result: Q-49, V-22, Total - 600

The best part of test is that I didn't feel a bit of stress in whole test and remained concentrated all the time.
Now certainly this is not the desired result, I am in confusion about my next step.

I know many of you would suggest me a retake but in that case also I dont know about how I can improve the score because doing the same thing by same way will not makes much difference I think.

Please give me a strategic approach for the same if you have any...
Thanks
