Thank you for your inquiry. The AWA is not an important metric in the process of assessing candidates. Generally, when a candidate’s AWA scores are unusually low, schools will compare the AWA essays with the application essays to ensure that they are consistent in style. I don’t think that your 4.0 is going to set-off any alarms - be sure that your essays reflect your style and you should be fine.
