Hi all,
I enjoyed reading prior posts of test day results, so here's mine:
I took the test this past Saturday at the Pearson Testing Center on William Street in lower Manhattan. I would highly recommend it: great set-up, quiet, staff were competent and quick.
Essays went well, had a few minutes to spare at the end of each of them, and then took a five minute break. Quant was challenging for me, because it was the section I was most nervous about, and so made some silly mistakes, and left the last question blank b/c I did not select an answer in time. This, in combination with the questions I _knew_ I'd gotten wrong, was highly discouraging.
I kept two things in mind after finishing the math section, both of which helped calm me greatly for the verbal, and both of which I read on this forum originally!
1) From a MGMAT moderator: the sections are always supposed to feel challenging, and it is the nature of the CAT that you may feel as though you are not doing well, even if your score is well within the acceptable. I used this info to reassure myself that I probably hadn't bombed the quant section, even though it felt like it!
2) Whatever you did on AWA or Quant, LET IT GO! Verbal is a new section, a new chance to bump your score as high as possible.
Verbal is by far my stronger subject, so there were no problems there.
Final results:
Quant 44, 72%
Verbal 48, 99%
Total: 740, 97%
Previous Scores:
MGMAT #1: 660 (no prep, no essays)
MGMAT #2: 650 (no essays)
MGMAT #3: 680 (for this test and all subsequent ones, I used the MGMAT practice center, and completed all three sections. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!)
MGMAT #4: 710
GMAT Prep #1: 720
MGMAT #5: 730
A question for the moderators, if there are any reading:
Although I understand why my Quant percentage is so much lower than my Verbal, it's still a little troubling. How does a 44 Quant score look to schools?
Thanks, all!
