690 vs 710

Hello,

I was hoping to get some feedback on the following dilemma. The first time I took the GMAT i scored a 690 (45Q, 40V). I recently took the test again and scored a 710 (48Q, 40V). The answer seems obvious as to which score to use when applying to b-schools but here is the dilemma. When I scored a 690, I received a 6/6 an 8/8 on AWA and IR, respectively. With the 710 I received a 5/6 and 7/8...

Does anyone have any advice as to which test to use when applying to business schools?

Hello!

I would definitely go with the 710 score. The quant and verbal sections of the test are much more important than the AWA and IR scores. You can also self report your higher AWA and IR scores in an optional statement if you wish - but definitely you should use the 710 as your official score.
