640 indian IT male

Hi

I have scored 640 in my gmat (planned for a retake) and scored 73% in my UG engineering. I do not have an impressive extra curricular records during my college days. I have 5 years experience with 1 year overseas work experience, for the past 3 years i have been involved in lot of welfare activities in and out of my office, recently joined an NGO. Moreover, i have many technical and domain certifications from reputed organizations.

Am i a strong candidate to get admission from these universities?

Although we don’t often work with candidates applying outside of the top-20, my limited understanding of the competitiveness of these programs informs my opinion that you would indeed be competitive, with the exception of UNC. However, considering that these schools are safe, you might take a stab at UNC, which would be a reach. Of course, a higher GMAT should help you. If you can raise your score significantly and tell the story of management and international experience, you may be able to take a run at this reach school as well.
