560 GMAT

by straightfromthegut Wed Sep 10, 2008 3:29 pm

Hi,

I live in the bay area, CA. With a GMAT score of 560 (Q44 v24), I am wondering whether I stand a chance to get admitted to some B-schools in the bay area such as Santa clara university, San jose state university. I have an undergrad GPA of 3.2 and about 7 years full time work experience in the field of telecommunications software design. My passion is in business development & investment management and my extra curricular activities are primarily centered around money mangement, stock trading, investing (I manage the finances for myself and my friends). Do let me know your comments and suggestions.

Thanks.

You do not even deserve to post on this Forum with a score of 560, you retard. Good luck in life - you'll need it.

For those schools you mentioned, you might be fine given your GMAT (although check with the school themselves for the averages - I don't know the averages offhand). In any case, you may be safer with a score of at least 600.

To the person who wrote that first rude post, shame on you. Most of us read these posts for positive feedback, whatever our situation may be. Everyone has a goal, and just because someone else's goal is different than yours doesn't make it any less significant. I can only hope that your "winning personality" shines through on the essays you hand in to your top choice b-schools. YOU are the one who is going to need luck in life with that attitude.

What type of reply is this?

The poster who asked the question may not have had the time or resources to to do well on the GMAT

After going through the MGMAT course, I improved my score by 100 points.

Does that mean I smater now than I before I signed up with MGMAT?

I think replies like this one shows a low level of maturity and does not reflect the high caliber of people on this forum.
