4th Job(diff Field) in 5yrs-Still good for top US 15 School?

by SCube7 Wed Feb 18, 2015 11:32 am

I had an unfortunate streak in the last 3 years I suppose. I got laid off twice and I left my 1st job (contract position) for a full time opportunity (hoping that would be the only job hop), all in different fields. It gave me thorough understanding of the different business industry (Only positive I suppose)

I want to fulfill a promise to myself now, doing an MBA or Master from Top 15 US universities. I am not sure how strong my profile is or what should I do to make my file stronger (doing extra courses is what I'm thinking - but its all before I score a high GMAT score (700-750 is a must for me!)) All the companies have big names in the global market.

Any help or guidance is much appreciated.

Hi there,

Hmm, tough to assess without knowing more and without a GMAT etc etc... but certainly yes a great GMAT helps; yes some course work can help (though if your undergrad GPA was strong it may not be necessary); it does sound like your work experience is a bit fragmented right now so maybe staying in one role for another couple of years may be the best bet and really aiming to make an impact there? Good luck!
