2nd MBA

by ABHISHEK.pitti Wed Jul 16, 2008 9:49 pm

My primary aim is to get a MBA from a top Business school, JUS becuz my company pays from a part time PMBA program from MERCER University, I applied for it and it requires a 4 yrs experience. I have jus 1 year ex and I was not expecting them to give me an admit but they did. The only reason y I wanna pursue this becuz it is a 16 months program, company paid and once in 2 weeks classes which shouldn't be that bad to handle with work.

I am looking at class of 2012 to apply to top business schools, so this PMBA program should get done by December 2009 and it should help me in getting some management responsibility and may be add some value to get a promotion. Can you tell me what impact would this PMBA program have on my applications to top business schools.

P.S: my primary goal is to get an MBA from top business schools.

Thank you,
Regards!

Thank you for your inquiry.

In general, schools frown upon applicants who already have MBAs. I actually asked one top-Admissions officer about this and she told me, asking me not to attribute the comment, that they always reject these candidates. She was careful to say that this was not a rule, but that they just had never been able to justify these candidates to taking the place of another candidate who still needed the education.
