2 Qs about inequalities from mgmat flashcards

Dear all,

I'm confused about the following two questions:

Q1

(p-1)p(p+1)<0

How do you simplify this? The difficulty is that either only p-1 is negative, or all three parts are negative.


Q2

lxl>lyl ?

How do you simplify this using algebra?
