Re: Analogy vs. Example

A question i saw which maybe not entirely, but largely hinged on this is p53. section 3 question 24. the questions asks how the argument proceeds, so its a general structure type. I chose the correct answer, but with little confidence. it starts with an example and then a general principle is given,...

Re: Q25 - Occultist: The issue of whether

Hello Noah- I am not sure I completely understand your explanation. Well, I understand the analogy you gave but I am not sure I see how it applies to this situation. I correctly chose b but was very tempted by d, and since I am not sure I understood your explanation I want to check if my reasoning w...

Re: Q24 - Professor: A person who can

i saw in a different forum where an MLSAT instructor stated that there is not really a major difference between analogy and example, and that she wouldn't expect to see an lsat question that hinged on this differentiation (since there is not really one). Can someone please clarify this for me, since...

Q15

Can someone pleas explain what makes d correct? From what I understood of this passage, the Tangible object theory, requires actual objects in order to be granted copyrights. The author disagrees with this (paragraph 3) but this question, unlike the previous question seems to be asking about the pas...

Re: Q15

thank you so much. After driving myself crazy trying to figure out how on earth D could possibly be right and the shock that no one had yet posted this question I FINALLY realized i had been looking at the wrong answer, and in fact D wasn't correct. I thought I had deleted this post after realizing ...

Re: Game #4 - Four Employees Transfer Workpieces

yes. i too am really struggling with this. I have managed to work out that it should essentially be a grid with four rows and four columns. I set it up with days of the week as my base and then each work piece would be transferred horizontally, and since there were four work pieces i built up 4 rows...

Wow. for the first game I found this quote challenging! Fortunately i guess at least game 2 was pretty much a breeze. I am slightly confused by the stimulus though. I am not sure how to deal with lengths of time between the 2 groups. For example since I must be longer than W, could I be second in gr...

Re: Q11 - Predictions that printed books

I do not understand how A weakens the argument. I did not think it supported the counterclaim that researchers and scientists prefer electronic books, rather i thought it was qualifying (and limiting) this claim and showing how they prefer this for certain reasons, whereas there are many other reaso...

Question 21

I am having trouble understanding how A is correct. I felt I had a pretty good understanding of the passage, and my map is as follows- P1- introduction to concept of equipoise P2- idea of Theoretical equipoise and why it is too strict and unreasonable for clinical trials P3 & 4- introduction to ...

Q24

I understand where the support for anwer choice d is coming from in passage b, but passage a does not seem to address this at all. it mentions low income and high income, but dos not much middle, so how do we know it would disagree? Furthermore, I am having difficulty ruling out some other answer ch...

Q27

I was very tempted by C, can someone please try and explain how I can more confidently rule it out and choose B. B seems to be a strong weakener, and I sort of approached this as an LR weaken question, and I thought B addressed a gap in AuthoR a's argument, but again I did not have much confidence w...

Re: Q24 - In criminal proceedings, defense attorneys

so I understand distinction between a false positive and false negative, but I do not see why this matters here. The DNA didnt prove to be for that person-so why does it matter which mistake is being made- shouldn't the person be exonerated because the DNA dint conclusively incriminate them? thanks ...

Re: Q18 - Bus Driver: Had the garbage

would choice D also be incorrect because we are unable to determine who should be reprimanded? The stimulus concludes that the driver should NOT be reprimanded..but we have no way to conclude who should be reprimanded.. Or, upon looking at this further it seems like determining who should be reprima...
