Re: Q14 - In 1712 the government of

The bullet-proof way would be to plug in some real numbers as maryadkins did. But, as maryadkins said: If you don't want to get into the math, think about it this way. They ended up approving the same number of books. The first censor knocked out a greater percentage than the second. That means the ...

Re: Q12 - The foreign minister of Zeria

Here's my take on this question. Z severing ties with N because N's flagrant violation of human rights. But Z continues relations with many other countries that have even worse violation of human rights. Z severing of ties cannot be explained solely due to N's flagrant violation of human rights. I t...

I remember when reading through the last paragraph I was thinking "so does the author think countries should act unilaterally to curb emissions?" Lo and behold, it was one of the questions. I got the question correct, but some input would still be much appreciated. Incorrect Answers: (A): ...

Lines 51-53 contain the sentence that supports the correct answer (D).

Further clarification of what "open texture" means is explained in lines 13-15.

Re: Q19 - Principle: When none of the fully

I'd like to take a stab at Q19. P: no fully qualified candidate that works for company --> hire who would be most productive A: D fully qualified --> not hire K Correct Answer (E): This says that none of the candidates work for the company. So this fulfills the sufficient condition. There are ...

Re: Q23 - Every brick house on River Street

Could someone please elaborate why answer (A) is incorrect? P: all L are P (L --> P) P: most L run office (most L --> run) C: most P run office (most P --> run) If we translate that into A/B terms that would be: A --> B most A --> R most B --> R The original reasoning is A --> B...

Re: Q11

I was stuck between A and B because they looked so similar.

Is B incorrect because it says they "overlooked?" The passage says they "underemphasized." Does that means they didn't overlook it, but they just didn't place enough important/attention to it?

Re: Q14

Here's my take on answer (C). How does one singular example provide evidence that fighting behavior does not vary greatly from contest to contest for most species? Also, the traditional theory says animal conflict is highly ritualized and does not vary. Can we equate fighting behavior with highly ri...

Q24 - Anthropologists assert that cultures

Hey I was wondering if someone could help me make sure I did this question right. So I got the correct Answer (A) because it's basically restating the last part of the first sentence, that outside imposition needs to be replaced by inside initiatives. I wanted to make sure I eliminated the other que...

Q20 - Most people in the United States

I'm having trouble understanding why answer (D) is incorrect. I think I know why answer (E) is correct, but further clarification/insight would be greatly appreciated as well. Is answer (D) wrong because of a slight term shift? The argument talks about providing fairly priced goods and services. The...

Meh I don't know how to attach a file so I'll just have to do it ASCII style. But I believe there is a way to diagram it in a fashion we are all more familiar with. _ _ _ _ _ _ FF MMMM _ _ _ _ _ _ GL _ _ _ _ _ _ PQRSTU 1 2 3 4 I only listed to 4 because in terms of positions, we're only concerned wi...

Re: Q16 - From the observation

I'm having some trouble understanding why answer (D) is incorrect and why answer (C) is correct. Is answer (D) incorrect because it's actually only about one member (there's a single coin being flipped five times) and it doesn't talk about a group? I was thrown off my C at first because many = some,...

Re: Q22 - On the surface, Melville's

I'd just like to chip in as to why B is incorrect. Aside from the red flag of "only," the real keyword to eliminating B is the word "genre." To put it bluntly, do we care about what genre Billy Bud is? We only care if it should be considered an allegory or not. I'm not an expert ...

Q1 - Walter: Although cigarette smoking

I got the question correct (the correct answer is A), and although I knew A was the better answer, I had trouble eliminating B (A was so perfect I almost wanted to just pick it and move on, but knowing this was for review, I went ahead and read the rest of the answers finding reasons to eliminate th...

Re: Q11 - Taken together some 2,000 stocks

I'd like to add a little bit to why answer (E) is wrong - why answer (E) weakens the argument. Notice how the argument's conclusion isn't "no one should ever follow any advice given by these guests on the show." Rather, the argument's conclusion is "no one should ever follow any advic...

Re: Q8 - Eva: A "smart highway" system

I feel the same about what a few of the previous posters said. I narrowed it down to B and C. I ultimately chose B because C included the word "significant." The argument only states that it would improve traffic flow (and drivers' tempers) and decrease "considerable" loss of mon...

Re: Q19

Just wanted to add something. If you framed this, you would have seen Q popping up quite often. That would have been an indicator to try answer C first. If you didn't frame it, you could still look back on your previous work (just a quick glance, but questions 12, 14, 15, 17) you'll see Q pop up qui...

I don't have anything to contribute, but as timmy said, the keyword is CAN. Call it complaining if you will, but I thought that was pretty tricky on LSAC's part. It's almost like a could be true answer is the correct answer choice for a must be true question. Y can have 4 cities. Alternatively, coul...

Re: Diagram

Demetri's diagram is spot on, although I chose to do mine in a vertical fashion. It's entirely up to you. I think the easiest way to tackle this game is to frame it. When you first make your diagram, it's really entirely blank. Aside from knowing that F cannot go during 08:00 AM, and H cannot go in ...
