Re: Q6

That really clarified everything. Thanks! Gotta beware of those trap answer choices ;)

Re: Q13 - Astronomers have found new evidence

I had a hard time choosing between answer choices (A) and (C) for this question and I was wondering if someone could offer a more detailed reason why (C) is wrong. I understand that (C) didn't address the issue of the Universe's total mass, but it seems to me that more sophisticated instruments coul...

Re: Q23 - Health Association: In certain studies

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help classify the question type for this problem.
Thank you

Re: Truth vs. Validity

It's important to recognize all three of these, because whenever questions use these phrases to describe the answer choices, we switch into thinking, "the stronger the language, the more helpful this answer potentially is to me". I'm so glad that you added this part because that is anothe...

Re: Solid first reading?

Wow. I feel like I've just been given the Rosetta Stone. The patterns sheet is super awesome! Despite having read the Manhattan RC book several times and done dozens of preptests, that little guide thing definitely organized all of the little things that were floating around in the grey matter. TBH,...

Solid first reading?

Does anyone know of a drill that would help in reading more efficiently. A lot of times I find that I have trouble absorbing most of the information on the first reading (especially on LR question stems). Here is what I am currently trying: Reading challenging material (not necessarily LSAT related)...

Truth vs. Validity

Is there any significant difference between the use of the terms "if true" and "if valid" in question stems? I might just be over-thinking things, but validity and truth are two markedly different entities when formulating an argument and it would be interesting to know what insi...

Re: Q10 - Albert: The government has proposed

I have a few questions regarding this question type since I seem to be perpetually getting these kinds of questions wrong and I also struggled a lot with PT21 S3 Q15 which is similar (although it is a strengthen and principle double whammy). Lets pretend this is a legit LSAT example A:..... B:.... W...

Re: Is it just me, or..?

OMG Patrick, thank you so much. Ironically Test 53 was one of the ones I had trouble with (also RC). I'm pretty sure I already have enough sections to put together that frankenstein hell monster test. A simple "thanks" wouldn't have sufficed. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Re: Q17 - Members of the Amazonian Akabe

I chose B for this question. I don't quite understand why it would be irrelevant. It seems that this would discredit the conclusion that the Akabe's reason for not drinking of it in the morning because of the high amount of caffeine, since they would still be able to drink it in the evening.

Q3 - The government recently released

The government recently released a study of drinking water, in which it was reported that consumers who bought bottled water were in many cases getting water that was less safe than what they could obtain much more cheaply from the public water supply. In spite of the enormous publicity that the stu...

Re: Is it just me, or..?

no not really.... for me it seems to be random. I get particularly annoyed when it is a LG section cause I usually rock LG but more often than not it is usually either RC or LR but I cant seem to find a profound rhyme or reason for such a thing.

Is it just me, or..?

Is it just me or is there a certain section in just about every PT is significantly harder than the others? I'm making mid-160s but every time there seems to be a certain section that I just get murdered in (missing like 10 or so problems). It isn't just LR or RC that this is happening in, it seems ...

Q6 - A study was designed to

I struggled a lot between choosing B or C. I mistakenly chose C because it proved that there were adverse effects of rigging on sea-bottom animals. I also see how B would taint both samples.

Re: Q6

I'm still a little fuzzy on why B is incorrect. Is it because legal questions are "seldom at issue", but still rather frequently brought up?

Q20

I'm not sure why D is the correct answer. We are supposed to choose something that undermines McLoughlin's account, which I thought E would satisfy since it would have meant that there was more tension in the tribe since the reforms didn't benefit everyone. I had a lot of trouble choosing an answer ...

Re: Q8 - Various mid-fourteenth-century

The only issue that I had with this question was that I was under the impression that the logic of the question stem was invalid because it concludes that something does not exist because there is no evidence for its existing. I was also led to believe that the LSAC explicitly states whether the log...

Re: Q7 - Workers may complain about

I think that it was very easy to get tripped up by C) because one would automatically assume that boredom would have been the recent phenomena that would have tainted the sample. However, there is no indication that boredom would have been the most recent phenomena. I believe that A) was also an att...

Re: Q14 - The commissioner has annouced that

Something that I find interesting in regards to this question is AC (E) because it seems like it is attempting to attack the flaw by different means. (E) states: The members of the local historical society unanimously support designating the First National Bank building a historical landmark. Since ...
