Main Point question. Always appears in Reading Comprehension Passage. The main point of this passage is:

There were number of conspicuous differences between US and Russia’s slavery and serfdom, which few historians studied, that explains resistance from each country as well.

Let's go to the answer choice to see if there is anything similar to the statement above.

A) The author points out the difference between R and US, and then develops into resistance. This is it. (Correct)

B) Only the first part of the first paragraph claims this. The main point is to introduce the one who did it.

C) True, but too narrowly focused.

D) The recent study by Kolchin analyzed the difference between Russia and US, NOT questioned the "value" of comparing those two.

E) Focusing on De Tocqueville is too narrowly focused.

When I read answer choice D, I thought by saying it questioned the value, it meant that it analyzed the differences and found the value that others have ignored. I ended up going with A because I couldn't figure out what 'cultural' differences in D were referring to and the overall tone struck me as wrong, but I'm hoping for a better explanation on why D is wrong.
