The best way to answer such question is to identify the domains. We have 4 cases to consider out here X < 2 2 < x < 3 3< x < 5 and x > 5 Case 1 X < 2 the equation reduces to -(x-2) - (-(x-3)) = -(x-5) -----> solve for x to get 6 but X cant be 6 coz x is less than 2 so this ai...

Re: gmatprep : the river in San Antonio

Option D does not convey the intended message which is - San Antonio, unlike many other cities has a river as a focal point. D does NOT bring out this contrast. Re: What is the sum of the digits of the positive...

Re: * material A B

Answer is B From the question we know that x + Y is 10 Consider statement 1 - y > 4 Plug in y = 5 so x = 10 - 5 = 5 here x=y Now plug in y = 6 x = 10 - 6 = 4 here x<y so statement 1 is insufficient Consider statement 2 C<40 => c < 3x + 5y => 40 < 3x +5y Plugin a value x= 5 so y ...

Re: MGMAT EXAM PROBLEM

Hi

The answer is C

With statement 1 - use TAN 60 = 6/BD = SQRT 3

to get BD = 6/sqrt 3

from the 2nd statement use pythagoras thrm - to get DE as sqrt 108

BE = BD plus DC =

we know the base and height so calc the area

ans C
