Absolute Coordinates-GMAT CAT 5

Hi My question is regarding Q14 (in my case) of CAT 5. The problem goes like this: In which quadrant of the coordinate plane does the point (x, y) lie? (1) |xy| + x|y| + |x|y + xy > 0 (2) -x < -y < |y| My doubt is in the solution of the first stem. This is the explanation given by MGMAT 1) ...

1. x>3/40 => x>0.075. Therefore x is surely > 0.05. So its either A or D
2. x>3/100*50 ie x>1.5. Again x should be surely > 0.05

So D. Unless I am missing something here.
