Can anyone explain to me ..the following...as Y>4 now lets us take the 1st statement X-Y>-2 then X-4>-2 then X>2 so X is positve.. however, it is not the case with the equation 2... X-2Y<-6 then X-8<-6.. X<-6+8 .... X<2.. this means X can take negative values as wel?? then ho...

It took too long because you were starting from the statements (in ft/sec) and solving three times (once for each statement, then for the combination) to answer the question (in miles or miles/hour). Turn that around. In general, the fastest approach is to go as far as you can with the question rep...
