What i feel is that the main topic of contention and the feel of the arguement is that the contestants are given unusually difficult words from foreign languages .

this is contrary to the explanation given ...

Pls let me know if my line of thinking is apt!!!!

Well Apparently.. There is a small mistake in your concept.

The Rest of the family income stay the same ,i.e = 100-60=40

Mrs Lee's Income increases by 20%=60+12=72

Therefore, Total Family earnings = Mrs Lee + Rest of the family=72+40=112

Percentage=(72/112)*100=63.7%=appr 64%

Unfortunately I dint note the OA down.

But ur point seems to make more sense. I forgot to take into consideration that Z=-1 ..Shiykes..

Seems that both the statements are required to obtain the answer.

I suppose it should be C
