Re: The gyrfalcon, an Arctic bird of prey, has survived a close

The gyrfalcon, an Arctic bird of prey, has survived a close brush with extinction; its numbers are now five times greater than when the use of DDT was sharply restricted in the early 1970’s. A. extinction; its numbers are now five times greater than B. extinction; its numbers are now five times mor...

Communications Menu - OG - Verbal Review 2 - Q 68

[deleted because problem is from a banned source - see below] Ron, Stacy, I selected the right option but I want to get a concept clarified. A introduces pronoun ambiguity I believe, which is why C is a better choice. But if you read the sentence, "them" cannot refer to anything except the...

Re: Weaken : "Farmers in developing countries"

Hi Jamie, I just came across this question in the test and I selected A. D makes sense no doubt, but if you look at A, one could conclude that the wheat supply would remain the same even if the subsidies stopped because after Wheat farmers have sold the amount of wheat that is in demand in the open ...

Re: Excavation of the ancient city in Kourion CR

Take away: Keep it simple. yep. notice the underlying theme here: the way in which you should read "strengthen" and "weaken" passages is totally different from the way in which you should read "assumption" passages! -- when you read "strengthen" and "wea...

610 - Need a Retake Strategy

Hello Stacey, Sorry for posting in that thread: http://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/2-weeks-until-exam-advice-really-needed-t16248.html I didn't want to open another thread, that's all :) The good news is I didn't take the test. I'll jog your memory. I took the GMAT on Tuesday, the 14th. Bad news is...

Re: Although people in France consume fatty foods at a rate

Hi Ron/Stacey, I know that C is wrong, but I can't seem to narrow it down. Is it because "their" refers to the death rates of the fatty foods? I've got this doubt because I remember a wise man(one of the mgmat instructors) told me GMAT problems rarely have this sort of pronoun ambiguity. S...

Re: 610 - Need a Retake Strategy

Stacy, After a week of analyzing and pondering over, i've collated all my strengths and weakness and I have a plan. I'm going to follow what you wrote on how to analyze every practice problem. I've booked a date on the 23rd of October. I need a couple of pointers from you: 1. How often should I take...

Re: 610 - Need a Retake Strategy

"...that other company" Haahahh :D.. That''s why you guys need to get here faast !! :) You know I blame that pacing to a great extent for my low score, now that I come to think of it. I read through all the articles and I've benchmarked the time wrt the Q No. and I've jotted down the time ...

Re: 610 - Need a Retake Strategy

Sure. Will do :). If you can accomodate a week long booster session of some sort in Hyderabad too, it'd be great. I know quite a few here who need serious scientific insight.

Re: 610 - Need a Retake Strategy

You're absolutely right. You have to be cost effective here. Every one only looks at the best value for money, and the problem is that quite a few(except some like myself) don't know how MGPREP is different OR some learn the hard way(after going thru a 2 month course with a prep company that puts ki...

Re: 610 - Need a Retake Strategy

Hi Stacy,

Hows the Mumbai project coming along?

I gave my GMAT today and I got a 660(Q: 46 V: 35)). I'm satisfied with that score because it puts me in the game atleast, for a MS - Management Info. Systems. I'm proud of the fact that I pushed my V from a 27 to a 35.

660 - Make Better Decisions and Be Realistic !

I will keep this simple, short and full of takeaways. I just finished a 2nd attempt at the GMAT. I got a 660(V:35; Q:46) When I started my GMAT journey 4 months ago, I was one of those typical over confident kids who thought that the GMAT was nothing compared to the GRE(which my friends took in coll...
