Kay Christensen

San Francisco, CA

  • University of Pennsylvania
  • Stanford University (M.A.)

Kay, an alumna of UPenn and Stanford, is a test maven and a lover of teaching; she has taught GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, and more throughout several states and countries. Today, armed with a 770 score, she’s devoted to GMAT.

Kay didn’t always expect to be a test maven. But after earning a fulfilling yet impractical degree in music theory and history from the University of Pennsylvania, she lucked out and found people who were willing to pay her for being great at puzzles. Thus began a career in test prep teaching and management, which later inspired her to obtain an M.A. in learning, design and technology from Stanford University. Aside from nerding out on tests, she now works with Bay Area organizations on a variety of education and user experience issues.

When she isn’t doing professional things, Kay likes to make stuff and raise animals. Knitting, construction, electronics, baking desserts, and playing an instrument or four in her house band are some favorite activities. Her household includes a handful of friendly chickens, a moon jellyfish, a dog, dozens of plants, and more than a few humans.
