BIO

Ian is a native Texan who has been helping students prepare for the GMAT for over 15 years. During this time, Ian has taught classes and tutored students all over Texas, in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and in South Korea.

In addition to the GMAT, Ian teaches the LSAT and GRE for Manhattan Prep. His experience with multiple tests, and with thousands of students of all backgrounds and skills, speaks to his ability to help students reach their goals, and his 780 official score demonstrates his deep knowledge of the GMAT. Ian also helps with curriculum development, most recently contributing to the redesign of Manhattan Prep’s Critical Reasoning strategies and materials.

Ian lives in Dallas, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in archaeology at SMU. His research uses social network analysis, GIS, and modeling to investigate how Pueblo people in New Mexico reacted and responded to the arrival of the Spanish in the region. In addition to teaching and studying, Ian competes annually in the MIT Mystery Hunt in Cambridge, MA, and follows Arsenal of the British Premier League religiously.
